Research
Aidan’s research focuses on how hypoxia in the primary tumor microenvironment promotes the metastatic potential of circulating tumor cells. Previous hypoxia research has primarily focused on signaling changes that occur when cancer cells are in hypoxia, but this does not account for prolonged changes that may occur once cancer cells re-enter normoxic conditions, such as when they metastasize. Aidan has expertise in a mix of wet and dry lab approaches, which allows her to utilize next generation sequencing technologies and molecular biology techniques to investigate the prolonged effects of hypoxia on luminal breast cancer cells.
Education
PhD in Molecular Medicine. University of Maryland Baltimore. Advisor: Dr. Min Yu.
Title: Establishment of a Highly Prognostic Hypoxic Memory Metagene Signature in Luminal Breast Cancer

Hobbies
Outside of lab Aidan enjoys yoga, reading, hiking, the ocean, and playing with her dog.
